Caption | The 2'D axle arrangement is not common overall (except in Spain) and is decidedly rare on tender locomotives, the small series G16 of the L. S. W. R. was designed by Locomotive Superintendent R. W. Urie in 1921 for operation on the hump of the Feltham marshalling yard, the in this sense "exotic" machines were taken over by British Railways, but disappeared around 1960. |
Caption (German) | Die Achsfolge 2’D ist insgesamt nicht häufig (ausser in Spanien) und bei Tenderloks ausgesprochen selten, die kleine Serie G16 der L. S. W. R. wurde von Locomotive Superintendent R. W. Urie im Jahre 1921 für den Betrieb am Ablaufberg des Rangierbashnhofes Feltham konzipiert, die in diesem Sinne "exotischen" Maschinen wurden noch von British Railways übernommen, verschwanden aber um 1960 |
