Caption | Brakeman's or escort car (in American caboose, in English mostly called brake van) with the typical roof pulpit, as it has always been widespread in the USA. In the USA, as in Europe, escort cars also served as a lounge and supply room for the escort personnel of a freight train, as well as a storage facility for tools and spare parts. A car of the same series with the number 9852 has been preserved and is located in Cleveland |
