Caption Due to minor deviations from the later series design, e.g. hinges on the outer smokebox door, probably locomotive from the first series of 44 units delivered by NBL in 1939. The first 35 locomotives of this series were built in Germany by Henschel and Bamag and delivered in 1938. During the Second World War, Beyer, Peacock & Company supplied 30 locomotives on a makeshift basis, and after the war NBL built a further 160 of these 2'D1' locomotives, which were in service until the 1980s. Caption (German) Wegen kleiner Abweichungen von der späteren Serienausführung, z.B. Scharniere an der äusseren Rauchkammertür, vermutlich Lok aus der ersten Serie von 44 Stück, die NBL 1939 lieferte. Die ersten 35 Lokomotiven dieser Baureihe wurden in Deutschland bei Henschel und Bamag gebaut und 1938 ausgeliefert. Während des Zweiten Weltkrieges lieferte Beyer, Peacock & Company notdürftig 30 Lokomotiven, nach dem Krieg baute NBL weitere 160 dieser 2'D1'-Lokomotiven, die bis in die 1980er Jahre im Einsatz waren.
