Both common, found thusfas only on North slope of hill; the former in rocky crevices and depressions, the latter as a small bushy shrub, or rambling over rocky faces. Note withered inflorescence of Cotyledon.

Union Castle

One of the practically identical sister ships "Arundel Castle" and "Windsor Castle" of the Union Castle Line. Built according to pre-war plans, the ships entered service in 1921/1922 already obsolete. They were the last ships with four funnels! The "Arundel Castle" was built by Harland & Wolff, later modernized and not scrapped until 1958 in Hong Kong. The "Windsor Castle", built by John Brown and also somewhat modernized, fell victim to a torpedo attack on March 23, 1943. Mail steamer leaving Cape Town
