| Caption | Postcard back with inscription: The blackened windows are threatened by the current construction plans and according to the construction tension with bricklaying. The shaded windows will be heavily shaded by a part of the heating plant, after the completion of which they will not open into the open air, but into a covered space, the glass roof of which will be in the deepest shadow of the giant chimney and tower of the heating plant. The red-framed windows already emit a noticeably reduced amount of light to the collection rooms. The diffuse light in particular is very much reduced, so that the direct skylight that is still present is reflected in very disturbing ways on the glass panes of the collection boxes concerned. After completion of the new machine laboratory and establishment of the smoke cloud, it will be even worse for the red-framed windows. |
| Caption (German) | Postkarte Rückseite mit Beschriftung: Die geschwärzten Fenster sind durch die derzeitigen Baupläne und gemäss der Bauspannung mit Zumauerung bedroht. Die schraffierten Fenster werden durch einen Bauteil des Heizwerkes schwer beschattet, nach dessen Vollendung sie nicht mehr ins Freie münden, sondern in einen gedeckten Raum, dessen Glasdach im tiefsten Schatten des Riesenschlotes und Turmes des Heizwerkes liegen wird. Die rot eingefassten Fenster geben schon jetzt eine merklich verringerte Lichtmenge an die Sammlungsräume ab. Besonders das diffuse Licht ist sehr vermindert, so dass das noch vorhandene direke Himmelslicht sich in sehr störenden Spiegelungen auf die Glasscheiben der betreffenden Sammlungskästen legt. Nach Vollendung des neuen Maschinenlaboratoriums und Etablierung der Rauchwolke, wird es für die rot eingefassten Fenster noch schlechter. |
