Caption | The closer ship: "Gme Tell" (III), built in 1856/57 as "Flèche" by Escher Wyss for Lake Neuchâtel and transferred to Lake Geneva in 1865. Initially operating under her original name, the ship was renamed "Ville-de-Genève" in 1872 and in 1893 the name changed to "Guillaume Tell" (III), but written as "Gme. Tell". Out of service 1912. Further ahead: Semi-saloon steamer "Major Davel", built 1892 by Escher Wyss and active until 1967. Not used |
Caption (German) | Das nähere liegende Schiff: "Gme Tell" (III), 1856/57 als "Flèche" von Escher Wyss für den Neuenburgersee erbaut und 1865 auf den Genfersee verbracht. Dort zunächst unter dem angestammten Namen verkehrend, wurde das Schiff 1872 in "Ville-de-Genève" umgetauft und 1893 wechselt der Name eben noch auf "Guillaume Tell" (III), angeschrieben jedoch als "Gme. Tell". Ausser Dienst 1912. Weiter vorne: Halbsalondampfer "Major Davel", 1892 von Escher Wyss erbaut und bis 1967 aktiv. Nicht gelaufen |
