Caption Tent on the site of the later Globus Provisorium (COOP Bahnhofbrücke), in the background left: lower Limmatquai, right: Grossmünster. Thor Heyerdahl's raft Kon-Tiki was exhibited in various cities in Europe after the expedition. It made stops in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany, for example. The raft was also on display in Switzerland. Schedule: 26.01.1955 arrival in the Rhine harbor in Basel, 27.01-11.02.1955 exhibited in Basel on the forecourt at the Mustermesse, 12.02.1955-14.02.1955 transport to Zurich, 14.02.1955 to 13.03.1955 exhibited in Zurich in a tent on the Papierwerdinsel (Globus Provisorium), 14.03.1955: start of return transport to Basel
Caption (German) Zelt auf dem Areal des späteren Globus Provisoriums (COOP Bahnhofbrücke), im Hintergrund links: untere Limmatquai, rechts: Grossmünster. Das Floss Kon-Tiki von Thor Heyerdahl wurde nach der Expedition in verschiedenen Städten in Europa ausgestellt. Es machte z.B. Station in Frankreich, Belgien, Holland und Deutschland. Auch in der Schweiz war das Floss zu sehen.
