Caption | The St. Johann port area on the left bank of the Rhine was Basel's original Rhine port. The area was managed until the beginning of the 21st century, but then abandoned and put to other uses. The area there now belongs to Novartis Campus. On the bank visible here, a footpath to Huningue has been built, which, however, is not yet fully open due to the remediation of contaminated sites on the French section (Lindan). |
