Caption | Be 2/3 No. 1032, built in 1939; B2 670, built in 1930. At the end of the 1930s, a new type of tram was sought to replace the era of wooden boxcars with car bodies in metal (steel, aluminum, duralumin, etc.). In cooperation of the St.St.Z with the Swiss companies MFO, BBC,SWS,SLM the 2 prototypes were developed. SLM supplied a triaxial chassis with center axle system Buchli (in curves the two driving axles were adapted to the radius, thus one wanted to reduce the rail wear and the squeaking). Restored in 1982 and loaned to the Museum of Transport in Lucerne. 2019 Return to Zurich to the Tram Museum Burgwies |
