Caption The tracks are on West Berlin territory, the row of houses on Brehmestrasse on East Berlin territory. The GDR border fortifications run parallel to the railroad embankment. Above, a special barbed wire fence with a wide curved weir. Below the railroad embankment, not visible here, the death strip and behind it the Wall. The whole border fortification is equipped with lighting poles without any gaps.
Caption (German) Die Gleise liegen auf Westberliner Gebiet, die Häuserreihe an der Brehmestrasse auf Ostberliner Gebiet. Parallel zum Bahndamm verlaufen die Grenzbefestigungen der DDR. Oben ein spezieller Stacheldrahtzaun mit weit gebogener Wehrung. Unterhalb des Bahndammes, hier nicht sichtbar, der Todesstreifen und dahinter die Mauer. Die ganze Grenzanlage ist lückenlos mit Beleuchtungsmasten versehen
