Caption Diesel-electric paddle-wheeler "Vevey", built in 1907 as a steam ship by Sulzer Bros., its propulsion system was converted from steam to the more modern technology in 1953-1955. In this form (also externally) the ship operated until 2009. In the following two years the ship received a completely new, again diesel-electric propulsion system, still retaining the paddle wheels. The exterior of the ship and the saloon were restored to the original state of 1907.
Caption (German) Dieselelektrisches Radschiff "Vevey", 1907 als Dampfschiff von den Gebr. Sulzer erbaut, wurde dessen Antriebsanlage 1953-1955 von Dampf auf die modernere Technologie umgebaut. In dieser Form (auch äusserlich) verkehrte das Schiff bis 2009. In den nachfolgenden zwei Jahren erhielt das Schiff eine vollkommen neuartige, wieder diesel-elektrische Antriebsanlage, weiterhin unter Beibehaltung der Schaufelräder. Das Äussere des Schiffes und der Salon wurden bei dieser Gelegenheit dem Ursprungszustand von 1907 angeglichen
