Caption | Center left: Villa Dubs, In der Hinterzelg 35-37, top right: former Villa Nager, In der Hinterzelg 85. In 1959, Menzing nuns opened the surgical acute clinic St. Raphael in the Villa Nager, after the previous location in the Villa Paracelsus at Seefeldquai 49 in Zurich had to be abandoned. The eye and hospital clinic "Paracelsus" had been located there since 1902 (see picture BAZ_095630). The villa had to make way for the new building of the former Elektrowatt AG in 1970. After the acquisition of the Villa Nager, the building was extended by a ward block and a nurses' retreat in 1961. The clinic operation was discontinued in 2008. The old building, erected in 1937, has been a listed building since 1982 with interruptions (representative of the Landi period). |
