Caption The Rolls Royce "Avon" engines of the Caravelle III had no thrust reverser. On short, wet or icy runways, a brake chute could be released at the tail during landing. After use, this had to be dried, cleaned, refolded and packed in the Swissair upholstery shop in Zurich-Kloten
Caption (German) Die Rolls Royce "Avon" Triebwerke der Caravelle III hatten keine Schubumkehrvorrichtung. Bei kurzen, nassen oder vereisten Pisten konnte bei der Landung am Heck ein Bremsschirm ausgelöst werden. Dieser musste nach Gebrauch in der Swissair-Sattlerei in Zürich-Kloten getrocknet, gereinigt, neu gefaltet und eingepackt werden
