Caption On this flight to Berlin in October 1927, Chamberlin landed in Lucerne directly in front of the hotel and in this picture probably refueled in Dübendorf. Before that he flew the route New York - Washington with this airplane. Chamberlin flew from Cherbourg to Berlin in October 1927. After Lindbergh, he had set a distance record from New York to just before Berlin on 6.6.1927 and wanted to visit this city again.
Caption (German) Chamberlin hat bei diesem Flug nach Berlin, im Oktober 1927 in Luzern direkt vor dem Hotel gewassert und auf diesem Bild warscheinlich in Dübendorf aufgetankt. Vorher flog er mit diesem Flugzeug die Strecke New York - Washington. Chamberlin flog im Oktober 1927 von Cherbourg nach Berlin. Er hatte nach Lindbergh am 6.6.1927 einen Distanzrekord von New York bis kurz vor Berlin aufgestellt und wollte diese Stadt nochmals besuchen
