Caption Franz Max Osswald's reverberation chamber laboratory, set up in 1929 in room 35a in the basement of the main ETH building, was located in the southwest corner of the southern courtyard. Carpets were hung to dampen the resonances of the room, as described in: Frei, Hans: Elektroakustische Untersuchungen in Hallräumen, dissertation 1935.
Caption (German) Das 1929 im Raum 35a im Untergeschoss des Hauptgebäudes der ETH eingerichtete Hallraumlaboratorium von Franz Max Osswald lag in der Südwestecke des südlichen Innenhofs. Die Teppiche wurden aufgehängt, um die Resonanzen des Raums zu dämpfen, so beschrieben in: Frei, Hans: Elektroakustische Untersuchungen in Hallräumen, Dissertation 1935
