| Caption | Above: Steam turbine tug "Zürich" reaches the port head of the new port basin of Basel Kleinhüningen on August 2, 1922 with the barge "Ticino", which was loaded with 513 tons of coke. The propulsion was not a conventional piston steam engine, but by a steam turbine. Below: Arrival of the "Schweiz" with barge "Wiese" WIESE in Basel - Kleinhüningen on August 2, 1922, in the background: barge "Ticino", the ship bridge Friedlingen-Hüningen and the Palmraine railway bridge. Stern-wheel tug, a type of construction that was rare on the Rhine and could not establish itself there (in contrast to Eastern Europe, for example), the two side-by-side smokestacks are clearly visible. | Caption (German) | Oben: Dampfturbinenschlepper "Zürich" erreicht am 2.08.1922 mit dem Kahn "Ticino" der mit 513 Tonnen Koks beladen war, den Hafenkopf des neuen Hafenbeckens von Basel Kleinhüningen. Der Antrieb erfolgte nicht eine konventionelle Kolben-Dampfmaschine erfolgte, sondern durch eine Dampfturbine. Unten: Ankunft der "Schweiz" mit Kahn "Wiese" WIESE in Basel - Kleinhüningen am 2.08.1922, im Hintergrund: Kahn "Ticino", die Schiffbrücke Friedlingen-Hüningen und die Palmraineisenbahnbrücke. Heckrad-Schlepper, eine Bauart, die auf dem Rhein selten war und sich dort (im Gegensatz etwa zu Osteuropa) nicht durchsetzen konnte, gut erkennbar die beiden nebeneinander liegenden Schornsteine. Botschaft der Postkarte: Lieber Adolf. Schon am Rauch siehst Du dass unser Seehafen von grosser Bedeutung ist, denn ohne Rauch kein (Hafen)Feuer. Seid alle gegrüsst von Eurem H. Schlosser Margitli.
