Caption Two "Cullum Detuner" muffler tubes from London were first mounted on "Peter Winterthur" undercarriages and each was pulled to the aircraft and anchored, this was very laborious and time-consuming. The picture shows the later version: The same tubes are now mounted on fixed substructures adjustable for SE-210 and DC-9 and the aircraft is brought into position by tractor. Great time saving, the mufflers were now used regularly. The muffling was very good especially on the noisy "Avon" engine of the SE-210
Caption (German) Zwei Schalldämpferrohre "Cullum Detuner" aus London waren zuerst auf "Peter Winterthur"-Fahrgestellen montiert und wurden jeweils zum Flugzeug gezogen und verankert, dies war sehr aufwändig und zeitintensiv. Das Bild zeigt die spätere Ausführung: Die gleichen Rohre sind nun auf festen, für SE-210 und DC-9 einstellbaren Unterkonstruktionen montiert und das Flugzeug wird mit dem Traktor in Position gebracht. Grosse Zeitersparnis, die Schalldämpfer wurden nun regelmässig verwendet. Die Dämpfung war vor allem beim lärmintensiven "Avon" Triebwerk der SE-210 sehr gut
