Caption Getting ready in the morning at Samedan: the antifreeze blankets over the engine nacelles are removed. Contemporary picture description of Swissair marketing: "At Europe's highest airfield, Samaden, 1800 m above sea level, a Swissair Douglas DC-2 is being made ready for takeoff. In this picture, you can just see the flight mechanic removing the engine covers, which are used to protect the engines from the cold during the layover."
Caption (German) Bereitstellung am Morgen in Samedan: die Frostschutzdecken über den Motorgondeln werden entfernt. Zeitgenössische Bildbeschreibung des Swissair-Marketings: "Auf Europas höchstem Flugplatz, Samaden, 1800 m über Meer, wird eine Douglas DC-2 der Swissair startbereit gemacht. Auf diesem Bilde sieht man gerade den Bordmechaniker die Motordecke wegnehmen, die während dem Aufenthalt zum Schutze der Motoren gegen Kälte verwendet werden."
