Caption | Design: Zeppelinwerke in Friedrichshafen, with powerful Maybach engines MbH luv with 240-260 hp output. In October 1920, the Swiss Army acquired all 19 aircraft. Zepp numbers 801 to 812 and 814 to 820 served as long range reconnaissance aircraft and for altitude training of pilots, as they could climb up to 8500 meters. The Zepp with the number 816 was equipped for aerial photography for the Swiss Federal Topography. Due to material fatigue, all Zepp machines were decommissioned and liquidated in 1927 |
Caption (German) | Konstruktion: Zeppelinwerke in Friedrichshafen, mit leistungsfähigen Maybach-Motoren MbH luv mit 240-260 PS Leistung. Im Oktober 1920 erwarb die Schweizer Armee alle 19 Flugzeuge. Die Zepp der Nummern 801 bis 812 und 814 bis 820 dienten als Aufklärungsflugzeuge für grosse Distanzen und für das Höhentraining von Piloten, da sie bis zu 8500 m hoch steigen konnten. Die Zepp mit der Nummer 816 war für Luftaufnahmen der Eidgenössischen Landestopographie ausgerüstet. Aufgrund von Materialermüdungen wurden im Jahr 1927 alle Zepp-Maschinen ausgemustert und liquidiert |
