Caption | 3rd from left: Chief designer Häfeli, 4th from left: factory pilot Max Cartier. Prototype fighter aircraft of the Swiss Army Air Force built in the workshops of K+W Thun. The single-aisle biplane of wooden construction with fabric covering and wing struts with N-braces corresponded to the Fokker D.VII. The prototype was returned to the manufacturer in 1926 due to unsatisfactory flight characteristics and performance. Manufacturer installed a 400 hp LFW-12 X-1 engine from Lokomotivfabrik Winterthur, which was too large and heavy. As a result, the entire MA-7 project was discontinued. |
Caption (German) | 3ter v.l.: Chefkonstrukteur Häfeli, 4.v.l.: Werkpilot Max Cartier.
