Caption | The names of the imaginatively colored steamers are easy to read. Approaching from the right is the "Léman" (III), built in 1857 (Escher Wyss & Cie) and highly valued for its nautical qualities. This ship remained active until the outbreak of war in 1939, but since about 1930 only as a reserve unit. During the war, the motor vessel "Léman" (IV) was built from the shell of this steamer. Right: "Mouette" from 1875, sold to Lake Iseo in 1907. Postmark 3.10.1904 |
Poststempel 3.10.1904 |
