Caption | Message of the postcard: Dear Friend. As you surely know, Malta owes its conversion to the Christian Faith to the Great Apostle at the Gentiles who was shipwrecked on the shores of the Island in A.D. 58 and who has ever since been 'Patronus Melitae'. This is the day commenonrating that great event. Valletta is in fête and in the afternoon a religious procession will go round the principal streets of the town carrying the famous hood statue of St. Paul, represented on this card ? The statue is the work of a celebrated maltese artist. In the evening there will be ? illumination and fire works dispaly and several bands will play selected programs. Postmark 10.2.1927 |
