Caption | Railcar Ce 2/2 No. 9 of the tramway from Vevey to Villeneuve. Electrified with three-phase current and with archaic double-decker cars, this "Tramway" was the first electric tramway in Switzerland. Before the 1st World War, it was converted to the usual direct current operation. The streetcar ran for the last time in 1958, since then trolleybus operation. Message of the postcard: Dear Daddy and Mommy! Today we were in Lutry, it was wonderful. Today is the Vaud Jour de l'indépendence - the Bernese are enemies on this day! So I put on the Vaudois colors and they were quite happy. Thanks for Palermo card, the brand ? . Postmark 14.4.1930. |
. Poststempel 14.4.1930. |
