| Caption | Message of the postcard: Dear Louise, from lazing + walking I hardly get to write. If the weather is not always glorious, it is dry & the meadows are full of flowers. Yesterday I was with our friends Kehrli in Milan & found them well. Only pity that the polit. mood is always so gloomy. Lugano is still very empty. Along the borders our soldiers are on guard. We are fine, only my stomach has been spitting up. Hopefully it is also bearable for you. ? & I send you & Franz our best regards. Postmark 31.3.1939 |
| Caption (German) | Botschaft der Postkarte: Liebe Louise, vor lauter Faulenzen + Spazieren komme ich kaum zum Schreiben. Wenn das Wetter auch nicht immer glanzvoll ist, so doch trocken & die Wiesen sind voller Blumen. Gestern war ich bei unseren Freunden Kehrli in Mailand & fand sie wohlauf. Nur schade, dass die polit. Stimmung immer so trübe ist. Lugano ist noch sehr leer. Den Grenzen entlang stehen unsere Soldaten auf Wacht. Uns gehts gut, nur mein Magen hat bis jetzt gespuckt.
