Caption This is one of the four "large steam swallows" built and delivered around 1892/93, in other words smaller screw steamers, specifically designed for local traffic. Based on the ZH coat of arms at the stern, it could be the "Neu-Zürich", which was already renamed "Thalweil" in 1897. This ship was converted to a motor ship "Thalwil" in 1935 and operated until 1969. Message of the postcard: Dear Elisabeth! With best thanks for your dear card I send you & D. dear parents gladly many greetings of the "Zürisee" & D. dear little sister es extra Grüssli O. Streuli. Postmark 16.8.1918
Caption (German) Es handelt sich um eine der vier um 1892/93 gebauten und gelieferten "grossen Dampfschwalben", mit anderen Worten um kleinere Schraubendampfer, spezifisch für Lokalverkehre konzipiert. Auf Grund des ZH-Wappens am Heck könnte es sich um die "Neu-Zürich" handeln, welche bereits 1897 in "Thalweil" umgetauft wurde. Dieses Schiff ist 1935 zu einem Motorschiff "Thalwil" umgebaut worden und verkehrte bis 1969. Botschaft der Postkarte: Lb. Elisabeth! Mit bestem Danke für Deine lb. Karte sende ich Dir & D. Lb.
