Caption A Samro is a potato harvester made by the Samro company, which was based in Burgdorf. The brand name Samro (apparently abbreviated from "gathering harvester") was also synonymous with all potato harvesters. The potatoes were freed from soil and small stones via the large drum rotating at the back
Caption (German) Ein Samro ist eine Kartoffelerntemaschine der Firma Samro, die ihren Sitz in Burgdorf hatte. Der Markenname Samro (offenbar abgekürzt aus "Sammelroder") war auch Synonym für alle Kartoffelerntemaschinen. Über die hinten rotierende grosse Trommel wurden die Kartoffeln von Erde und kleinen Steinen befreit
