Caption | In the marble workshop, the raw blocks from the Ghieiba marble quarry are finished before delivery to customers. The blocks still show the older quarrying method on their faces: each block was extracted from the rock with a series of numerous parallel boreholes. It was not until later that this quarry also switched to the method with a circulating rope, which, set with industrial diamonds, cut its way through the rock. |
