Caption | 2-2-2 Two-cylinder wet steam express locomotive, class B3. The basic design was by Archibald Sturrock, improved by Patrick Stirling and optimized by Henry Ivatt, a development that took over 30 years. The class B3 consisted of 2 series, the first of 10 built by the Doncaster Works in 1886-1889, the second of 11 built in 1892-1894, also by Doncaster (recognizable by the silver-colored oval factory plate). Early retirement of these machines, between 1909 and 1913 they disappeared from the rails |

Der Grundentwurf geht auf Archibald Sturrock zurück, verbessert durch Patrick Stirling und optimiert durch Henry Ivatt, eine Entwicklung, die über 30 Jahre dauerte. Die class B3 bestand aus 2 Serien, die erste von 10 Stück wurde 1886-1889 von den Doncaster Works erbaut, die zweite von 11 Stück in den Jahren 1892-1894, ebenfalls durch Doncaster (erkenntlich durch das silberfarbige ovale Fabrikschild).
