About us

The image catalogue entitled “Collection of scientific instruments and teaching aids” contains images of scientific instruments, models and other teaching aids from various institutes and departments at ETH Zurich. The collection documents the object-based teaching and research history at ETH Zurich since its foundation, charting the changes in analytical techniques and methodologies in the engineering and natural sciences. The objects in the collection of scientific instruments and teaching aids can be searched for online in the image catalogue, and are also accessible to specialists physically for research, teaching and exhibition purposes. The “Collection of Astronomical Instruments” has merged with “The Collection of Scientific Instruments and Teaching Aids” as a partial holding.

Terms of use

If the image documents are published, the Collection of Scientific Instruments and Teaching Aids and ETH Library should each be provided with a free sample copy.
