Baugeschichtliches Archiv: collection online
Baugeschichtliches Archiv is part of the Urban Planning Office of the City of Zurich Building Department.
We document the structural development of the city of Zurich. Zurich’s urban development and the architectural histories of individual buildings in Zurich are traceable through photographs, plans and documents.
The photographic collection of Baugeschichtliches Archiv comprises about 1 million images, the oldest dating from the mid-19th century. The collection is continually enlarged by ongoing photographic documentation of structural changes in the city of Zurich, historical portfolio acquisitions and bequests.
